Filter Applications
The main applications of activated carbon filters can be found in industrial and commercial fields. A distinction is made between filters for the liquid or water purification and filtration for gas and air cleaning.
Filters for liquid or water purification are used, for example:
- in the treatment of groundwater and leachate from landfills.
- for the purification of industrial wastewater (e.g. chemical industry).
- with particularly strict discharge requirements for the cleaning of already partially treated wastewater.
- to protect biological wastewater by removing bacterial substances.
- for treating drinking water in the food and beverage industry for liquid products of all kinds, for example, to achieve a taste or odor neutralization.
- from waterworks for the treatment of drinking water treatment from groundwater, for example. This water is often contaminated with organic compounds such as pesticides, insecticides, etc. from agriculture and chlorinated hydrocarbons. A filter with activated carbon is necessary to reduce health risks in humans after years of consumption and so that odorless and flavorless water and can be offered.
- for the industrial cleaning of cooking oil, soap and alcohol
- for the removal of beer fermentation by-products.
- to eliminate unwanted flavors from spirits.
- for the treatment of swimming pool water. Activated carbon filtering considerably reduces harmful substances and eliminates chlorine and ozone residue. Last but not least, with this type of filtering, it is possible to re-use the water in certain ways and to circulate it again. This is not only cost saving for the operator, but also environmentally friendly.
- for removing color from all kinds products. .
