Description

Terra Aquatica pH+ Regulator (1000ml)

The specially designed pH regulators allow optimal adjustment and stabilisation of the pH value of your water, even for fast-growing plants.

The acidity or alkalinity of a nutrient solution plays a major role in the solubility of the minerals it contains and their uptake by the plant. However, there is no such thing as a universally perfect pH value. A high value favours cation uptake, while a low value promotes anion uptake. Therefore, any chosen pH value is a compromise. Even the experts do not agree. Some of them make no difference between values of 4.9 to 6.8, while others determine the pH value for each individual plant. The usually recommended value is 5.5 to 6.5. Terra Aquatica prefers the lower range and sticks to values between 5.5 and 6.2. The ideal pH regulator should only have to be used once when starting up the system. This is not quite the case yet, at least not with all fertilisers and in all situations. However, Terra Aquatica was able to maintain the same pH value for several weeks without readjustment in trials in their greenhouses, using the T.A. fertiliser Flora-series and Mineral Magic.
In some systems, the pH gradually dropped and a little pH-up rebalanced it. In other systems it remained constant at the usually ideal value of 6.0.

Liquid pH regulators

pH Down - pH Buffer: contains biological buffer substances.
Unlike other commercially available pH regulators, T.A. pH-Down is not just a simple acid.
Rather, it is a balanced mixture of acids and biological buffer substances that stabilise the pH value in the long term and at the same time regulate the calcium content (this is particularly important in hard water). It is used to lower the pH when preparing the nutrient solution.
The pH value then remains stable until the next water change and only needs occasional checking.

pH Up contains silicates

To increase the pH value. Particularly useful for growers who work with reverse osmosis systems or demineralised water. pH Up contains pH-raising bases as well as natural silicates, whose catalytic properties provide ideal protection against deficiency symptoms, especially in hydroponic systems.
Due to their limited solubility, it is usually difficult to have sufficient quantities available in the nutrient solution.

CAUTION: always wear suitable protective clothing when handling strong acids/bases.
