This makes the Philips Son-T Pia more simple and shock-resistant than other sodium vapor lamps and reduces the early failure rate by the modified ignition technology. Additionally, the pressure of the discharge tube of all Pia sodium vapor lamps has been reinforced, which increases the luminous flux. That way the Philips Son-T Pia reaches a luminous efficacy of up to 150 lumen per watt. With its red/yellow color-spectrum (2000 kelvin) this bulb gives the ideal light for the blooming phase because it supplies the plants with the essential wavelength.
