Additional care until harvest
Since the chili plants can grow quite high (depending on the type of chili) you should prune them from a height of 30cm. This not just makes the care of the plant easier, but also heightens the taste of your future fruits.
You should fertilze your chili plant regularly because it requires a lot of nutrients: nitrogen is most important in nourishing foliage; phosphorus and kalium in promoting the growth of fruits. Nevertheless it is important to avoid over-fertilization: especially in the growth phase of the fruits, over-fertilization can lead to faster growth of the foliage but it can also interfere with the growth of the fruits.
One dosis granular fertilizer per saison should be enough for smaller chili plants. Alternatively, you can use liquid fertilizer every two weeks, and from the growth phase of the fruits on weekly. You should fertilze larger plants already before planting and additionally fertilze them with ammonium nitrate starting from June.
