A low-pressure pump delivers through nozzles or ultrasound-converters the nutrient solution, which then either drips or flows back into the containers. Since the plants grow in these appliances until maturation, they suffer from the dry areas of the root systems that get in the way of an appropriate nutrient uptake.
For financial reasons, these appliances are not equipped with the functions that clean the nutrient solution and remove deposits and unwanted germs properly. Such appliances are usually suitable for the bench-top-cultivation and for the demonstration of the basic idea of an aeroponics.
