AC Infinity IONBEAM U2 – UVA supplementary lighting, set of 2

The AC Infinity IONBEAM U2 is a compact set of UVA LED strips designed to specifically supplement your main lighting in indoor growing. The two 27.9 cm-long LED strips each combine UVA diodes at 365 nm and 395 nm, thereby supplementing the light spectrum with wavelengths that are also present in natural sunlight.

The additional UVA lighting can expose plants to targeted light stimuli and is particularly useful during the later growth and flowering stages. AC Infinity has designed the IONBEAM U2 to support the more intense development of colour, aroma and resin in suitable plant species.

With 15 watts total power consumption, 10-step dimming, an integrated timer controller and magnetic mounting, the set can be easily integrated into existing grow boxes.

UVA spectrum at 365 nm and 395 nm

Unlike a traditional full-spectrum grow light, the IONBEAM U2 is not intended as the sole main light source. It has been developed as supplementary UVA lighting.

Each of the two strips features 12 LEDs, tuned to the wavelengths 365 nm and 395 nm.

The additional UV radiation simulates part of the natural sunlight spectrum and provides targeted light stimuli. AC Infinity recommends this spectrum for the growth and flowering stages, whilst it can be used specifically during fruit and flower development to enhance certain plant characteristics.

Supplement to your existing LED grow light

The IONBEAM U2 can be used in addition to your existing grow lighting. This means you do not need to replace your main lighting, but can specifically extend its spectrum to include UVA at 365 and 395 nm.

AC Infinity provides the following guidelines for area coverage:

• 2 strips: 60 × 60 cm, 60 × 120 cm or 90 × 90 cm
• 4 strips: 120 × 120 cm or 150 × 150 cm

This allows you to expand the system to suit the size of your grow area.

10 dimming levels and integrated timer

The package includes a dedicated dimmable schedule controller. This allows you to adjust the UVA output to suit your grow and the respective stage of development.

There are 10 brightness levels available, as well as various operating modes for On, Off and Schedule.

Controlled usage time is particularly important with UVA lighting. The integrated timer allows you to specify when the supplementary lighting should be active, without having to switch it on and off manually every day.

Magnetic mounting in the grow tent

AC Infinity has designed the IONBEAM U2 specifically for flexible installation in the grow area.

The LED strips can be magnetically attached to suitable grow tent poles. Additional mounting poles are included in the set for installation on fabric walls.

This allows you to position the UVA strips flexibly and direct them towards the desired area of the plants. The compact size of just 27.9 × 2.75 cm per strip takes up hardly any space in the grow tent.

Robust aluminium housing with IP65

The IONBEAM U2 LED strips feature a sturdy aluminium unibody housing. The aluminium also acts as a passive heat sink, ensuring reliable operation of the LEDs.

With IP65 protection, the strips are protected against dust and water jets, making them suitable for the typical conditions found in a grow environment.

The specified service life is 50,000 operating hours.

UIS™-compatible for smart grow control

The IONBEAM U2 is part of the AC Infinity UIS™ platform and can be integrated into a suitably equipped AC Infinity control system.

A compatible UIS controller provides additional options for automation and synchronisation with other grow equipment. Depending on the controller used, it is possible, for example, to set up schedules, grow cycles and other control functions.

When connected to a compatible networked controller, the system can also be managed via the AC Infinity app.

The UVA doesn’t need a lot of power here

With a total power consumption of just 15 watts, the IONBEAM U2 is specifically designed as supplementary lighting. It is not intended to replace the high light output of a main grow lamp, but rather to specifically supplement the existing spectrum with UVA.

This allows existing LED lighting to be expanded to include additional UV wavelengths without having to install another high-power grow lamp.
