Homegrow24 Mycorrhiza Root Booster Granules 100 g

The Homegrow24 Mycorrhiza Root Booster is a granulate designed to provide targeted support for the root zone and is particularly suitable for soil and organic-based growing media. The mycorrhiza it contains is applied as close to the roots as possible, making it ideal for repotting, when starting out in a new growing medium, or for natural and biologically active growing set-ups.

A well-developed root system forms the basis for the uptake of water and nutrients. This is precisely where mycorrhiza comes in: the fungi can form a symbiotic relationship with the plant roots and complement the functional root system.

The Homegrow24 Root Booster is not an NPK fertiliser, but rather a supplement for the root zone. It can therefore be easily integrated into existing fertiliser and growing medium set-ups.

What is mycorrhiza?

Mycorrhiza refers to a natural association between certain fungi and plant roots. Mycorrhizal fungi colonise the root zone and form fine fungal structures known as hyphae.

This allows the plant to expand the area of the growing medium it can access. This helps the root zone to absorb water and available nutrients.

In return, the fungus receives carbohydrates from the plant’s photosynthesis. This creates a natural symbiosis, similar to that found in many soils.

Ideal for repotting and setting up new growing media

Using the mycorrhizal root booster is particularly beneficial when repotting. The granules can be placed as close as possible to the existing root zone before the plant is transferred into the new growing medium.

When setting up a new soil-based system, mycorrhizae can also be introduced directly into the relevant root zone.

The key here is contact with the roots that is as direct as possible. If simply scattered far away within the growing medium, the potential of the mycorrhiza cannot be utilised as effectively.

Particularly suitable for soil & organic growing media

The Homegrow24 Mycorrhiza Root Booster is particularly well suited to soil, organic growing media and naturally oriented growing concepts.

Soil

Mycorrhiza is particularly well suited to soil. It can be applied directly to the root zone when planting or repotting and complements biologically active substrates.

Coco

In coco, effective use depends more heavily on the specific growing system. Coco is often used with a controlled supply of mineral nutrients. Whether mycorrhiza can be used effectively here should therefore be decided on the basis of the overall fertilisation and watering strategy.

Hydro

The granules are not really intended for use in traditional hydroponic systems. Here, the focus is on a controlled nutrient solution and the correct adjustment of pH and EC levels.

Outdoors

Mycorrhiza is also particularly well suited to outdoor plants, provided the granules are applied directly to the root zone when planting or repotting.

Supporting an active root zone

Mycorrhiza is only one part of a healthy root environment. Equally important are a loose and well-aerated substrate, adequate drainage and the correct watering regime.

Waterlogging and a substrate that is constantly too wet should be avoided. Good conditions in the root zone support both the plant roots and an active soil micro-organism population.

The root booster can therefore be combined particularly well with high-quality soil, airy planters such as felt pots and a nutrient supply tailored to the plant’s needs.

Not a substitute for an NPK fertiliser

The Homegrow24 Mycorrhiza Root Booster should not be confused with a traditional growth or bloom fertiliser.

It does not serve as a basic NPK supply and therefore does not replace a needs-based supply of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and other essential nutrients.

If you wish to supply your plants with nutrients directly, you will also need a suitable basic or slow-release fertiliser. Mycorrhiza complements this system at the root zone level.

Application & Dosage

The Homegrow24 Mycorrhiza Root Booster is added directly into the planting hole when planting or repotting. This ensures the granules are immediately within the root zone.

Dosage: approx. 15 g of granules per plant

1. Make a planting hole in the prepared growing medium.
2. Add approx. 15 g of mycorrhiza granules per plant to the planting hole.
3. Place the plant in the hole, ensuring that the granules are as close as possible to the root zone.
4. Fill the planting hole with growing medium.
5. Then water evenly.
6. Avoid waterlogging.

Practical tip: Direct contact with the root zone is particularly important when using mycorrhiza. At the same time, a loose growing medium, good drainage and appropriate watering ensure optimal conditions in the root zone.
