Pelletised anthracite-based activated carbon for Prima Klima Eco, Eco Flat & Industry activated carbon filters
Anthracite, also known as hard coal, has a very high carbon content and a high specific weight by nature. Unlike granulated coal, the production of pellets requires an additional production step. The hard coal is pulverised and mixed with a binding agent (binder). Usually bitumen is used for this purpose. The resulting coal-bitumen mixture is pressed through a perforated die. Compared to granulated coal, the coal withstands the high temperatures in the combustion chamber longer thanks to the binder. CTC values > 100 % and iodine adsorptions of 1280 mg/g can thus be achieved. The advantages of such activated carbon are the low pressure loss and the high achievable iodine number/CTC value. The low pressure loss and the very good service life even at high humidity are further advantages. Disadvantages are the higher price and the high emissions during production.

Prima Klima's CTC75 activated carbon is specially manufactured to refill activated carbon filters and comes pre-packed in an environmentally friendly 2.5kg carton.
Manufacturer's guideline: approx. 1kg. of activated carbon per 100 m³/h of feasible throughput of the filter.
