Nothing is better for plants than an optimal pH value. A high pH promotes cation uptake, a low one anion uptake: the set value is always a compromise between two extremes.  A range of 5.5 to 6.5 is usually recommended.

A value in the lower range of 5.5 to a maximum of 6.2 is recommended.

Terra Aquatica pH- can do more than just being an acid: it makes an important contribution to the nutrient balance of the solution.

To produce Terra Aquatica pH-, the manufacturer combines the strengths of three acids that are usually used individually in hydroponics, which has disadvantages, into a balanced mixture that has only advantages.

Phosphoric and nitric acid take on the main task of regulating the pH value at the beginning in Terra Aquatica pH-. Their ratio is adjusted so that it has no influence on the N/K ratio in the growth and flowering phase and no residues form on the tank surface, which happens with phosphoric acid alone in hard water. Then biological citric acid takes over. Thanks to its buffering effect, it compensates for pH fluctuations that occur later on, keeps the nutrient solution stable and compensates for calcium surpluses in areas with hard water.
