Based on the Terra Preta model, ‘Riedlingsdorfer Schwarzerde’ was developed after many years of trials and research. When used correctly, this soil ensures long-lasting fertility and eliminates the need for regular fertiliser application. The reason for this is the special composition of the soil, which consists of organic compost, organic biochar, rock flour, brick chips, loamy sand and horn shavings. On the one hand, this ensures a loss-free soil system and a constant supply of nitrogen and, on the other hand, improved nutrient availability.

Numerous trials have shown that Terra Preta can yield up to 25 kg of vegetables per m² – year after year, without any fertiliser or plant protection products. ‘Riedlingsdorfer Schwarzerde’ was developed based on this model and, when used correctly, ensures long-lasting soil fertility without the need for regular fertiliser application.

Correct application

Black earth is a ready-to-use soil for outdoor use or in raised beds. It can be used in any layer thickness. A layer of 20-30 cm is recommended for root vegetables.

Ideal for:

Vegetable beds, raised beds, fruit bushes, flowers and potted plants. Black soil is ideal for improving the soil in existing garden areas and as a ready-to-use planting substrate.

Of course, ‘Riedlingsdorfer Schwarzerde’ can also be combined with other soils. It is recommended to always cover the soil with organic material such as grass clippings. If grass clippings are not available, any other organic material such as leaves, chopped shrub cuttings, bark, harvest residues and weeds can also be used. In an emergency, paper shreds or cardboard waste can also be used.

The soil should always be covered with organic material and needs contact with the subsoil. If this is observed, you can look forward to long-lasting soil fertility and vigorous plant growth.

Note:

The horn shavings contained in the product are a nitrogen fertiliser and are slowly decomposed by fungi. A white fungal network is therefore normal and indicates high biological activity.
